Is there really a free plan?
Yes. The free plan includes 5 estimates per month, SMS delivery, tap-to-sign signatures, and photo line items — all with no credit card required. It stays free indefinitely. When you're ready for unlimited estimates and deposit collection, you can upgrade to Professional for $29/month.
What does the 1% fee apply to?
TailgateQuote charges a 1% application fee on deposits collected through Stripe on Professional and Crew plans. This is on top of Stripe's standard processing fee (2.9% + 30¢). On a $1,000 deposit: TailgateQuote takes $10, Stripe takes $29.30. You receive $960.70. For most contractors, one extra closed job covers years of those fees.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. There are no contracts and no cancellation fees. Cancel anytime from your account settings and you won't be billed again. You keep access through the end of your billing period.
What's the difference between Professional and Crew?
Professional is for solo operators — one user, unlimited estimates, full Stripe deposit collection. Crew adds 3 total seats (you + 2 crew members), job cost breakdown reports, custom estimate branding with your logo, and QuickBooks CSV export. If you're a solo contractor, Professional is everything you need.
How fast do I get paid?
Once your customer pays via Stripe, funds are deposited into your linked bank account within 2 business days (often next business day). You can see transfer status in your TailgateQuote dashboard and in Stripe's dashboard.
Does the customer need to download an app?
No. Your customer receives an SMS with a link. They tap it and the estimate opens in their phone's browser — no app, no login, no friction. Signing takes 8 seconds. Works on any iPhone or Android.
Is TailgateQuote cheaper than Jobber?
Yes. Jobber's Core plan starts at $69/month (vs. $29 for TailgateQuote Professional) and was built for service companies with dispatchers and routing — not solo contractors closing jobs on-site. TailgateQuote is purpose-built for the estimate → sign → deposit workflow, and costs less than half as much. See our
full Jobber comparison.
